Liverpool fans have been reacting on Twitter after Reds fan outlet LFC Transfer Room posted a screengrab of previous comments Domenico Berardi made about his desire to join the Reds [GOAL].

Enjoying a fantastic 2020/21 campaign at current employers Sassuolo, the 26-year-old registered 25 goal contributions in 30 appearances; 17 goals and eight assists [Transfermarkt].

Recently, the Italy international has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield. Earlier this week, Liverpool were said to be ‘ready to join the auction’ in regards to the talented winger [Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness].

Now, comments from 2019 have emerged connecting Berardi and Liverpool, as the wide-man stated to Gazzetta dello Sport about his potential next destination: “Being able to choose, I would play in Liverpool” [Gazzetta dello Sport via GOAL].

Making for an interesting dynamic, no wonder loads of Liverpool diehards took to Twitter to discuss the situation.
